It feels like coming home each time we arrive at Sunset Marquis. The fridge in our Villa kitchen was stocked with my favorite wine, and they arranged for a bottle of Jack’s favorite whiskey. If we didn’t have plans that night, I’m not sure if we would have made it out of the Villa.
Scarlet, Paula, Hannah and I were “Bad Reputation”, the best rock band roaming the UCLA campus not so many years ago. I went back to New York after college to go to law school, Hannah got married and moved to Atlanta where she runs a PR Firm, while Scarlet and Paula stayed here in LA and both have well-known bands of their own.
We used to come out to the Sunset Marquis after shows. We had some great times at this hotel and Scarlet told us all about how much more amazing it is now, so we thought it the perfect place to have our girl’s reunion.
We’re getting the band back together!
After introductions, Mark got Sebastian started with some coffee, and we got started with our presentation. Charlie and Sarah laid out our creative and media strategies for the coming year, we even showed some creative mockups that Sebastian loved.
We fully expected to pitch, shake hands, and follow up later… not today folks. We were hired on the spot, I’ve never been so proud of my team and all the work we put in to nail this. We were having such a great conversation, the meeting ran a full hour over. Sebastian suggested we go to dinner, and I gave John that nod that says find us good reservations quickly before Sebastian mentioned maybe going to cavatina on property.
My name is Barkley, I’m a dog. In my various travels with my human one hotel stands out above all the rest when it comes to taking care of us, Sunset Marquis.
Soon as you walk into the lobby you run into the Morrison Hotel Gallery, featuring some amazing dog loving musicians, I always “paws” for a moment to see what’s new.
